What does this indicator mean?

This is on a GCC spec petrol 80. Don’t have the manual and Google search comes up blank. Put a new air filter in, but it didn’t go away. Perplexed - any help welcome!

I think your right to change the air filter , I'd disconnect batteries for half hour to see if it clears the fault warning before pulling things apart to see how air gets to the filter .

Ack. Got really hopeful there - but yeah changed the filter (old one didn’t look TOO bad), pulled the negative for an hour or so, but no go. Still on.
 
Wired symbol there! To me it looks very similar to what is used for a warning that the catalytic converters is overheating, but I guess you don’t have a cat?
 
From owner's manual. Nothing in there about a reset procedure, just clean or replace the filter.

Remove the airbox and have a poke around inside the wing , maybe tape a bit of hose to a vacuum cleaner see if it picks up a likely suspect .
