For example the older 12V 80's used tapered nuts and the newer 24V used flats. The Colorados/Prados all use flat nuts. The alloys will have holes/seats to accommodate each type of nut - so you can't mix and match AFAIK. I'm sure someone that knows what they're talking about will come along soon and give a fuller explanation!

Nuts with shoulders fit into 'shoulders' in the wheels.... can you see a pattern developing here If you use tappered nuts on wheels with shoulders chances are it will come off.... the same with shouldered nuts on tappered wheels. Now I know why your wheel fell off in Morocco I would just stick to playing with wood if I was you
