wheel offset

Hi Guys
I found out what the wheel offset is but now I need to know what is the off
set for the cruiser and what difference would the wrong offset make.
Would it have implications for the driving , safety, clearance in the wheel
arch, etc etc.
cheers

Hi John;
The more offset you've got the more the flange from the wheel is located
towards the inside of the rim.
I.e. your tyres are running outside your wheelarches.
Wrong wheel offset, correct rim and tyre size often means your brakes are
going to touch the rim.
Try turning a wheel 180 degrees so the outside faces inside and mounting it
;-)
Haven't had any driving experience with wrong wheel offset.
But I would think your bearings would have to deal with complete others
forces.

Thanks Chris
Thanks for that info and heres me seeing if I could help you earlier when
you know more than I do, although that is not too hard.

Hi there John;
Us fellow landcruiserians enjoy chitter chatter about our pride and joy.
The ELCO and LCOOL have sometimes been real eye-openers for me.
Compared to our belgium 4x4 forums you guys are rocket-scientists.
Someone on the belgian forum last said to me that an 80 is ready for the
scrap heap if it's got 300 k km. How does one reply to that?????
Anyway it's my last day off work. The other half doesn't have anything on
the
list for tomorrow. So if it's up to me, I'm off to the Celtic Ireland Pub
tonight.
Cheers All

Well Chris
You dont know how right you are when it comes to talking about cruisers were
im concerned. I could talk and talk and talk and then still want more info
about what I dont know.
And I can tell you what I dont know is a lot even more than a lot and when I
try to talk about cruisers or think im really cute and try to help, well
thats when I know what I really dont know. But the sad thing is so does
every one else.
I think ill stick to what I do, ask the questions and talk crap.
cheers
