Hi Mitch,

Shame about the spare fj but keep looking as it makes for cheap spares and I like the idea of the trailer, so am looking forward to the drawing. Sounds neat.

I'll attempt to put some links below re the seats etc:
http://www.sor.com/cat118.sor?tabpage=TAB3
http://www.sor.com/cat311.sor

And the 1200mm is a dashpad retainer (I've been through a bumch of body pics and drawings and that's the only thing that fits the bill):
http://www.sor.com/cat172.sor

The switch positions:
http://www.sor.com/cat176.sor

CCOT also have rear seats: http://www.coolcruisers.com/
They also have front seat riser kits. But for OEM www.sor.com are best but not necessarily the cheapest.

I am off the the UK for 10-14 days as my son is coming out of hospital after his motorcycle crash, but I'll still access the forum when I have time but won't have access to the tech stuff other than what I can remember(!) which, at my age, is probably not a lot!

Hope this helps and that you can access them. If www.sor.com is a problem search under spector offroad.

Cheers,

Thanks very much rodger! really appreciate it mate

Ok guys, so I've had some good news!
i have found another 1976 fj40 for sale 4 hours from my house and i have negotiated with the guy to hopefully pick it up by next week!
here are some photos!

So now once i have this i will figure out what to do,
but i will end up with 1 complete 76 fj40, a shell which i will turn into a trailer and the front end i have a pretty cool idea of what to do with.

Im thinking of putting gas struts on the front bonnet and welding up a steel frame and turning the front end into a BBQ.
what are your thoughts?

cheers

Hi Mitch,
That looks like you'll have nearly all the bits for yours plus a quarterlight door & tailgate options and the trailer and the BBQ. looks like a good find and those front seats look as if they are the stock seats (?). The wipers are mounted at the top of the screen and other than the door window change pretty well everything else is interchangeable.

Cheers,

yeah it seems all pretty good
not bad for $1200 when you look back and see how much everything else was individually...
there wont be much left over once I use go and do what I want it will be good.
ill be able to sell one of the motors and bits and pieces to put money towards the cost of it all.

cheers

Ok guys so a small update,

yesterday i drove 16 hours to pick up the new FJ40, I'm absolutely stoked with it, I'm hoping that this will be able to complete my other one so ill choose the best of both worlds to make one complete FJ.

after talking for some time we shook hands and agreed that i will pick up the FJ45 in 6 months and hoping to pick up the land rover 6 months after that.
so fingers crossed it pans out that way, ill try get a photo of the FJ45 but i did take a photo of the land rover
