If you could choose ONE 1960's classic car to own and use which would it be?
There is no limit on price, but the vehicle should be capable of being useable, so let's forget the exotics like 250's et al.

For me...

Mercedes "Pagoda" SL
Classic, chic and timeless style.
Mercedes at their very best!

Motoring as it should be !

Ford Mustang Mach 1 - OK it just about sneaks into the '60s - first one was released in 1969. The model I love is the 71/72 version 8-)

Not exactly subtle.....but ever since I saw one in "Diamonds Are Forever", I was smitten....

Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious Elan for exquisite handling and needle sharp responses.

Dont know why, but a AC Cobra in blue with the white stripes..... I would even settle for a replica!

My dream car...

I would also settle for a deep red, or metallic maroon with silver stripes.

Assuming that you mean vehicles that went into production in the 60s.....

Yes!?!

Then I'm driving it.... BJ40

I guess my favourite , non-TOYO, 60s car that I've had (and we had a few) would be 63 Galaxie pillarless which just beats the 1960 Cadillac. Then of course there's always the real Mini Cooper S!

Regards,

You guys can't have that one, that's my choice! Would have to be as above with a hemi

Other cars for my 60's garage would include a '68 VW T2 (used to own a '71 dormobile and loved it - but the '68s have added kudos), a Mini Clubman, a LR Series II 109 Safari and a Triumph GT6. There's heaps more but I do love my classics and could probably fill an hour adding them to this post ;)

A 1965 Hillman Imp, if only I had the money to keep it on the road  I used to own one with a Neil Davis racing conversion installed, the acceleration was astounding and with lowered suspension it went round corners like it was on rails, it was a lovely little car but always going wrong

1969 Dodge Charger R/T 440 (7.2l V8) manual in black with some go faster/louder work done, just listen to it compared to a modern V8 8-) Might need my own oil refinery though...

 Music to the ears.

Some great cars so far, c'mon guys keep 'em coming.

Oh yes, a black Dodge Charger. Love it! Very Stuntman Mike.

But personal choice - the GT40

Another car I owned was the Daimler Dart, only made for 5 years, 1959-1964, renamed later as SP250 when threatened with legal action by Chrysler’s Dodge division. A truly great car, 2.5ltr V8, made in conjunction with Triumph I think  but the fibre glass body could flex under acceleration allowing the doors to pop open  road holding wasn't great with the skinny tyres of the time but it was exhilarating to drive ;) some people called them ugly, I thought it was beautiful  I bought mine for £300, I dread to think what one would cost these days :o

Surprised no-one has mentioned an E-type yet?

'Lazz, I think you've disqualified the clear and obvious choice though. 250 GTO all the way for me 8-)

Anyone care to hazard a guess, what this is?

Hmm, Maserati, Gorden Keeble

I'll go Italian too - Pininfarina logo suggests that's a strong probability 8-) I'm gonna go Lancia, maybe with a Ferrari engine?
