Andy, great choice! Be careful driving past BP, Shell and Esso, the steering wheel may turn sharply left!
I have a (two) V6 and love them, have had the pleasure of looking after an R50 for a while.
Have a look at the turbo actuator rods, the circlips are common for corroding and coming off putting you in limp mode, VW like to tell you it needs new turbos, engine out and around £10-12k from your pocket

Yes The auto box was built specifically for the V10 by Aisin for VW
as the only thing capable of handling the torque. They got 750Nm on the Dyno!

Here's a shot of one I was loaned pre launch though this was a V6 petrol on coils, quite capable...
