    Just to report back that the RAV4 Traction Switch did indeed fit and work as intended. However the CDL graphic on the switch does not illuminate when the button is pressed compared to the original which does. So the known switches to work other than the original are: Hazard Warning Light RAV4...

    So the next question is ... are the synchro's in the transmission made from brass? Separately... would the rating of GL5 indicate that the oil has these additives? According to the manual the correct oil is: API GL-4 or GL-5 SAE 75W-90 Are all GL-5 rated oils not EP or Hypoid compatible? IQ

    You haven't used any extreme wheel cleaning products ... that might of caused the rubber to perish? Doubt you have ... but it could be a possibility for instance when trying to clean brake dust of your wheels. IQ

    Half way between the alternator pulley and the water pump pulley. If you have 2 then you can use 1 as a reference against the other.

    I believe it's more to do with the extra charge being created in the alternator than the belts being cold or warm.... Notice the noise disapears when the battery meter in the car comes up to it's normal position. IQ
