I left the under seal a little too late and the tin worm got me ill just keep welding steel to it forever in never getting rid of it, it owes me too much money
Took the flares off to fit some kut snake ones and got some nasty surprises Oh well out with the welder and filler and it will be like new again I think I will fill the old holes while I'm at it
It's a t reg so it has the older engine It seems to have a little more pick up now but I'm not sure if that is just the brakes not sticking anymore I mostly did the cat for piece of mind as I have read people have problems with them and it was easy to do. It will do 70 if you are brave enough...
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181615218693 Can't comment on quality but the price is good you could message the guy I bought my Pistons off and see if he has any for a 12 valve I know the rings are the same but I'm not sure about the pistons
Just go by the book and you will be ok, I used one of them 3 leg glaze busters on a drill to do my bores when you do it remove the oil nozzles at the bottom because there is a risk of catching them and bending them when going up and down the bore. You have to mesure everything, the bores in 8...
I ordered them off eBay they are the same ones @StarCruiser has put a link up to and payed around £350 they are good quality Pistons in my opinion and a damn site cheaper than toyota ones at £200 each from amayama. I have read your thread @lockie i can't remember if you are changing just the one...
I haven't got a fan fitted at the minute and I'm not sure if it would make much of a difference I have felt the intercooler after a motorway drive, just driving around town and while I was greenlaneing the inlet side was slightly warm but the outlet side was cold to the touch. I think you could...
I think it has made a lot of difference after it adjusted the pump and boost pressure the turbo really kicks in now. I think what I did is still by far the cheapest option with the same results
I made my own and I am very happy with it https://www.landcruiserclub.net/community/threads/top-mount-intercooler-diy-1hd-ft.146346/page-2#post-1421810
Had an oil leak at the back of the engine so i changed the rear crank seal, put a new clutch in and changed the oils in the gearbox ant transfer box today. Not too bad of a job the bell housing bolts are quite easy to get to when you jack the front of the engine up but that gearbox is bloody heavy!
If you have removed the egr you do need a good earth I changed the heater relay after removing the egr on mine and when I started the car it earthed through the throttle linkage melting the throttle return Spring then I fitted an earth strap and it made that glow red hot so I had to fit a thick...
heard a clunk when the front left wheel went over a bump and the steering wheel was 45 degrees out turns out the problem was the rear right so spent the morning welding this back together
Yea zooming works fine everything works as it would on a phone my head unit is android I just download the an aria of the map the night before I go out using the wifi outside my house
I have been running an eonon android double din with memory map for a while now it seems reliable and I have had no problems with it yet https://www.landcruiserclub.net/community/threads/eonon-touch-screen-satnav-double-din.143711/
I took the car for a bit of a shake down at the weekend I had a few problems first of all I fitted a 10" fan under the intercooler this caused it to rub slightly on the bonnet so I am going to have to get a smaller one that fits in the hole I cut for the scoop the second problem was with the...
the scoop is off an isuzu trooper it is just about the perfect size for the intercooler and i think it matches the car well i was looking at suburu scoops but i dont think it would look right. I have bought a boost controller off ebay its just a cheap nasty one that will do for now
It is normal to have one wheel spin and for you to stop with the diff lock disengaged with it engaged you need a front and rear wheel spinning to stop you. do what I have said above just lift one wheel off the floor try to spin it then engage centre diff lock and try to spin it agin it...
Tweaking the pump for an intercooler is still something I am reading up on I am going to fit a a boost regulator and turn it up to 15 psi then I am going to adjust the main fuel screw on the back of the pump then adjust the off boost compensator so it doesn't smoke too much before the boost kicks in
Got the starter apart today the positive contact is looking pretty shabby I can even see where it had melted together when the starter got stuck on so it will need replacing I have cleaned it up for now so I can still drive it until the kit arrives it weren't too dirty inside just dust of the...
i have read that the bonnet is a low pressure zone so i am going to fit a 10" fan under it that will kick in at 50c that should also keep it working off road
Yesterday my car developed a bit of a starting problem it usually starts with half a turn of the key i did a pay and play day last week and went through some pretty deep water (deep enough for my friends td5 ecu to get drowned) then i left the car sitting for a week while i fitted an intercooler...
got the power bulge fitted i will need to take it off again paint it and put it back on with a bead of silicone around the edge before butting the bonnet liner back on. the scoop sits just forward of the washer jets so i didnt have to move them
i agree towpack but this setup should have less lag the pipes are easier to fit and im not sure a front mount would fit with the winch and could get covered in mud and clogged i think when i fit a fan i should get good air flow and minimal heat absorption from the engine plus i quite look the...
I got the scoop today im going to fit it at the weekend, i have already cut the bracing off the bonnet and it doesn't feel any less rigid maybe that will change when i cut a whopping great hole in it can someone with an intercooler tell me what they did with the vacuum hoses and egr sensors...
I bought a load of those hose clamps when I ordered the hose but they are the wrong size so I'm sending them back then I will replace my jubilee clips I have swayed all the pipe to stop it blowing off (a problem I had with a defender years ago) I will look in to getting a spal fan but the budget...
