Where did you get the replacement aerial? Mine's been missing since we got it!

Fitted an Albrecht AE 6490 CB rig into Fiery

Will the TTI fit under the radio without mod then? This is what I was originally going to go for (TCB1100) but was told that the DIN fitting kit can't be removed from it, so it won't fit. Being a bit of a tart, I'm looking to do a really near install.

Fitted an Albrecht AE 6490 CB rig into Fiery

How are you getting on with the Albrecht? I've been looking for a unit that will fit under the radio neatly, with a front facing speaker and Jim at 4x4 has recommended it - helped along by the fact that there's pics of your install in the 90! Cheers.

    Overheating

Wow - thanks for all the comments. A clogged rad was my first thought, but I thought the jetwash would have cured that. Glad to know I'm wrong! I'll whip the rad out and let you know how I get on. Good time to change the coolant too I guess.

    Overheating

Here's the deal - after a bit of fun at Kirton, it's overheating - but only once you crack 42mph it seems! At idle, or trundling round the off road site, it's rock steady in the usual position. Will seemingly idle for ages with no concerns. I jetted the rad in case it was blocked but that...

32" tyres on 4.1 ratio diffs

Do they? Nuts - I never got round to trying them on before selling them. Mind you, with 285/75s they were massive!

    Dash switch question

You still have a scrappy you can root around in? I thought those days were long gone (sat in the third car up of the stack as it teetered about, trying to get what you needed...) £1+p&p sounds good to me. Drop me a PM with your preferred payment details etc and I'll send you my address. Thanks!

    Dash switch question

I've got a blank under the heated-mirror switch - what goes there? Something on a VX spec I assume. I want to use whatever this switch is as switchable power for my CB and I'm too OCD to use any old switch just drilled into the dash. The hazard switch will fit in the cut-out if anyone's got...

Rockslider and winch mount wants enquiry

There's too much off-piste action as well, which is really frustrating. You can get stuck in mud anywhere, but these tracks are few and far between. While I'm on, are you making any more winch mounts? I'd like one!

Rockslider and winch mount wants enquiry

There must be something about that spot and Discoverys. We had to winch an abandoned one out of the way on Sunday morning as it was bound to get hit sooner or later by someone sliding into it (actually, it was a few yards back, immediately after the river crossing). Looked like they''d got...

CB aerial mounting (permanent) - Success!

I asked how others had mounted aerials back in October. Seems that gutter mounts were the only thing anyone had used back then, but I wanted something more permanent. I had really wanted to mount to the rear door, but the double skin was getting in the way. Anyway, where there's a will and...

Headlights - what are the extra electrical gubbins?

Ah, I see - well I think that's one feature that's being consigned to the bin then. Assume I can just unplug and forget?

Headlights - what are the extra electrical gubbins?

Ordered a new LH headlight from Milners as the existing one corroded (and/or filled with mud...). All was looking good until I found a multiplug with eight wires on it going into the bottom of the existing unit. There is no provision for this in the new headlight from Milners. Can anyone shed...

    Mounting a CB Aerial

    Mounting a CB Aerial

Thought I'd stick mine on this evening, only to find that it's not that straight forward... I've got one of those panel mount things that's designed to mount the aerial to a flat vertical surface - you know, this thing: I was going to mount it with an angle adaptor on top to get the aerial...

Diff lock actuator - question about changing...

So, some background. When I bought my Colorado earlier in the summer, the diff lock whirred when the switch was turned (I honestly can't remember if the light flashed or not) - just playing with it to see if it worked. Last weekend, when stuck in a muddy hole, I flicked the switch and nothing...

    Is anyone running 255/85/16 M/T's on a 90 then........

I've recently fitted Cooper STT's - 265/75R16 to mine (standard suspension etc), with no problems at all. Highly recommend the Cooper.
