Headlights - what are the extra electrical gubbins?

Ordered a new LH headlight from Milners as the existing one corroded (and/or filled with mud...). All was looking good until I found a multiplug with eight wires on it going into the bottom of the existing unit. There is no provision for this in the new headlight from Milners. Can anyone shed any light (sorry) on what this is for? Do I need a more specific headlight?!

Electric levelling headlights.

Not every model has them. Some are simply manual with a screw that needs to be turned like in the olden days.

Ah, I see - well I think that's one feature that's being consigned to the bin then. Assume I can just unplug and forget?
