100 diff problems

Hi guys

I'm looking at buying a 100 V8 Cruiser and I've been checking over all the things that should work etc.

The rear diff lock - I place the car in neutral, lock the centre diff, the light goes yellow and stays on. Lock the rear, the light blinks red and keep on blinking.

I'm guessing this means that it isn't working. What I'm looking for is;

a) the likely causes/problem
b) what it will cost to fix

The dealer is looking into it but don't want them to say "oh, I'll knock of £100 as it's an easy fix" and it taking £1000 to put right.

Could be that it is OK, except for being stuck because of being unused.
Could be an electric problem that can be fixed.
Could be that the motor is corroded or burnt.
Could be that the whole actuator body is corroded to pieces.
Or something else.

First thing to check is if the motor is moving. Can you hear a whirr underneath when turning the switch? If not, it's likely to require a new actuator?
