I purchased a ’86 J60 Cruiser. It is a new family member acquired from the great NW and currently residing in P’cola Fl. It has 179,000 miles and her name is Ursa. Moved from the intro section.

Rust that needed to be dealt with. It wasn’t bad from what I’ve been told.

The engine started to sputter(a technical term) with an associated lack of charge on the voltmeter. I Had the battery checked, auto parts store said it was bad. I replaced it, then it continued after about a week of driving. The voltmeter was registering above 12 and then started to drop and the engine began to sputter again. Had the alternator check, told it was bad. I replaced it…..rinse and repeat. Did some research and determined it was the fusible link. That solved the problem,

Weeks later while running the ac on high I heard a loud pop which was muted by the music being played. I pulled all the fuses, did a continuity check and all was good. Long story short a friend of mine ran across info about a little known circuit breaker in the panel with the fuses. It was associated with resistance from a worn/dirty fan motor. Used a paper clip to insert in the little hole, see associated picture, and reset the fan. It was a simple fix to a major problem.

FJ60 Blower Motor just quit working - [Leaving Land Cruiser Club]
