Just been reading a post about 35 inch tyres and the need to perhaps change axel ratio, these were on when i bought her. How can i tell if the ratio needs changing. Revs versus speedo ??

Do you have an lectric map sometimes called satellite navigation take a steady drive at a fixed speed of 30 mph or 50 mph on the speedo and check against map reading if it a few mph out say 3 to 4 then it's livable if more the get a new plastic thingy for the changing speed bobbins box

So these are 2 separate problems.

1. Speedo is out as Steve suggested is fine and what I do.in my hilux which is around 8mph adrift.

2. Gear ratios is a different matter and can only be decided if needed by driving it. If its slow to pull away on 35s then if ypu feel the need to changing ratios will help. Plenty of 80s on 35s without changing.

Hi, going just by the speedo gear change to higher gear at 60kms and 80kms. I will boot it from stop later and note all auto changes. Thanks
