TBH Frank, if it runs straight and true on somebody elses £40K truck I don't intend to do a lot more messing about.
Anyway full power has been restored on the GS. From the run on Sunday, about 240 miles it did 30 MPG but wasn't much quicker than a good 60. I thought what have I changed to make it perform so poorly from how well it went before? Having examined the gauze filter in the tank, replaced the fuel filter ( after only 3K miles there were tears!!) and checked all the vac pipes to no avail I took it for another test drive last night. After a few miles I reached down to tthe footwell and pulled the Rhino rubber mat/tray out and put it in the passenger side and guess what?? it went like a scalded cat in comparison, full power had been restored with the ability to achieve full throttle!!
