After cruising all day at 70 mph it's all a bit tiring with the intake roar. Even some on the over run. I've done the following to try and eradicate it but would be grateful for any advice.

1. Additional felt under bonnet.
2. Air box has the later resonance chamber fitted.
3. Air box has felt lining on inside and panel deadener on the outside.
4. Bulkhead has panel deadener inside the car together with additional 25mm felt.
5. Engine compartment bulkhead has additional panel deadener.

It's a quiet 80 now but noisy compared with my almost silent 24 valve diesel 100 which does not seem to have any improved sound proofing to what I've done.

Anyone got an answer ?

Windnoise from the body is far greater than any intake noise IMO. The 100 series benefits from better screen and window/door seals. That's the first thing I noticed when I drove a 100. After that (on mine) it's the 3" side exit exhaust .
