4.2 td hesitant/missing above 2600 rpm ?

Hi all ,after going out on my first high speed motorway run my engine seems to stutter when it reaches 2600 rpm ,any ideas would be helpful ,I am going to change the fuel filter tomorrow and maybe check the fuel tank pick up/strainer.If you just rev the engine it seems fine,thanks Wayne.

Dont forget fuel filler cap and tank vent.

There was something mentioned about fitting an electric fuel pump but worth trying the easy stuff first.

As paul said,could be filler cap.

You are doing filter and the pickup. It prob will be either of those two.

I dont think its the filler cap,I haven't heard it hiss when unscrewing and I had left it loosely screwed on as I had to fill up half way through my journey to rule it out.

Usually it is filter or filter on the pick up in than.

I always take them off as there just a pain. Filter under the bonnet stops what i needs to.

hello,sorted now the fuel pick up looked like a turd when I took it out ,cleaned it out and re-fitted,goes like a scalded cat now!
