Ha, I like this, although my 80 has barn doors, so I don't have the benefit of the extended load bearing platform.
I did once fill the back with rockery white granite (if there is such a thing) at a quarry. It was free to me, so I couldn't resist. I completely filled the rear floor area (with the second and third row seats folded) up to the ceiling and thought at the time that there must be close to a ton on board.
It drove beautifully all the way home (which was about 450 kms) albeit a tad slow on the hills (there's no turbo on mine). Cornering stability was amazingly good and it only dropped about 3" on the ride height.
They're a great workhorse these 80s, considering the level of comfort they provide.
I've just taken your originally posted picture, right mouse, "save picture as" to my harddrive, right mouse on the picture file, select rotate clockwise, then I uploaded the rotated file. Took me all of 30 seconds.
