A quick note to say a big thank you to Julian.
I was on my way to Wales in the cruiser on Good Friday when it started
overheating at anything over 55 mph. Not a show stopper but very annoying.
I was close to Julian's house but did not have his phone number with me. On
the off chance he was in, I called in to see if he had a spare thermostat I
could buy. Well not only was he in, he also had a spare thermostat. How
lucky was I? To my total amazement he then said follow him to the workshop
and he fitted it as well!!
I still have an overheating issue but now it's at 75 not 55. The rad is not
blocked but does have a lot of fins missing. I will replace it and the
water pump to hopefully banish the problem.
So thanks again Julian your help was greatly appreciated.

I cracked my rub trying to force a fuel pipe onto a Frontrunner dual
filler neck - it's easy to get the first one on, but the second one is a
complete b**tard - the pipes are too close together.
Anyway, using both hands I was trying to pull the pipe onto the filler
that was wedged against my chest and as I was trying to pull the bl**dy
thing on I heard a crack from one of my ribs.
A week and a bit later it is still pretty painful, although I have found
that extra strong ibuprophen chased down by an extremely large whisky in
the evenings means that at least I get a decent nights sleep ;-)
