I guess you could argue about this 'till the cows come home, as indeed we have done on past threads. A correctly functioning ABS system is a benefit for road use, that's all I'm sayin'. Off road maybe not which is probably why the ABS is disabled as default behaviour when the CD is locked.

It helps steering in an emergency braking situation so you have options on what to hit because it won't let you stop .
