Anyone know anything about dual sim phones ?

The Mrs has an S3 , she was asked for her phone number in a shop recently so knowing what to expect i walked out to the car got my phone and returned with it to give Helen's number to the cashier before Helen could find the number in her phone . That's a 50ft walk (with a dodgy leg i'm not fast on my feet) and i pressed the 2 buttons necessary to find her number while at the counter .

Something like this Shane, £30 or so and unlocked, or would you like more of a smartphone?

Dual sims are quite common over here; there are 2 dominant networks (Telstra and Optus) who have pretty good coverage; Telstra is slightly better in regional Aus, so people often have a Telstra phone if they're out that way, but there are a whole load who do cheap international calls which appeal to those who have emigrated to Aus.

Took it to carphone warehouse to see if they could repair the phone and was told there are no dual sim phones for the uk market because service providers do not want us to have them . They wouldn't even send my phone for engineers to look at as they were pretty sure the phone was fine but Orange had recognized i had dual sim and so caused the problems .

Surely if its true about uk dual sims being forbidden by service providers it goes against it goes against every law ever written in favour of the consumer ?

Two guys in the response team have these samsungs, they are UK supplied and a UK model, so the carphone guy is talking the usual horses**t.

Cheers Pete it felt like a fob off but did make me wonder . I have been offered a refund if i send the phone back to room 101 Shanghai where they say it will be checked by the Samsung factory for faults . Samsung themselves don't give a damn , i practically begged them to tell me where i could buy this exact same phone but i may as well have phoned a talking clock set to repeat galaxy range - galaxy range - galaxy range oh and PC World stocks the galaxy range . Thanks for the link but open phones with keypad lock don't work for me either coz my phone spends most of its time in the back pocket of my jeans .
