Are 4x4s really as bad as their critics claim?

I'd rather have a powerful car than polar ice caps!

Hi Sripad
You forgot about the wasted fuel from people having fun in their quads,
motor bikes, motor boats, jet skies, etc etc.
Dont forget the planes and ships for all those no need holidays and trips,
im sure they use a hell of a lot of fuel.
Dont forget the high powered motor bikes which deliver about 20 mph.
Dont forget the by racer cars all supped up and driving fast burning extra
fuel.
Im sure there are even people silly enough to believe that electric cars use
no fuel
cheers

I think this whole 4x4 pollution thing is almost like the fox hunting. More
of a class issue than an environmental issue.
Why don't they try and get the owners of the estimated 1 million unlicensed
cars to pay their fees?!
