ATF gearbox leak

I was under the car yesterday checking things and noticed an ATF leak from the nearside engine/gearbox join. I was wondering if it could be fixed with a clean and sealant from the outside?
I'll post a pic when its on the ramp.

I put that in a leaky diff years ago the night before driving from the UK to Romania and back , its never leaked since .

Found the leak,it's difficult to photograph and I couldn't find the parts on a parts diagram. You can reach it from underneath on the nearside under the front seat.
It's a small (3cm) plastic fitting with an o-ring seal,the fitting had cracked and the seal was perished. New parts arrived and fitted and now no leak. It looks like it was to feed some fitting not used on this engine.
Now I can relax and enjoy the 1250 mile ride North next week...
