Looks like I need a new battery for the cruiser. Went to Halfords and they dont stock the required battery. They quoted over £200 and a 5 day lead time. Where is the best place to get one and what type/size/power/brand should I be asking for?

Thanks in advance.

Really? I will give them a call in the moring and get a quote. I hear Macro are cheap for batteries, all our local black cab drivers get their tyres and batteries from Macro.

That's a bit weird as I also need a new battery for a v8 !! I'll post up any prices I get tomorrow, as I bought a battery for my old surf that was excellent in the minus 15 degrees winter, so I'm phoning them for another one!!!

Here is one I have found, any better deals?

Eurocarparts.com: £99.54 inc VAT and Delivery

I would still give your local Toyota dealer a call.

I was looking for a new battery for my 3.4V6 Colorado and the Toyota battery was a very good price - ~ £55 IIRC. No doubt the 4.7V8 will need a bit more juice but I can't imagine the price being that much higher.
