Had a little trip out to a local quarry behind an old cement works.

It was organised by Sussex 4x4 Response as a bit of practice. One of the group runs Sussex Air Imaging and did us this rather good video with his drone. [emoji4]

Very nice video, and a good place to practice safely.

It's the best way to find out what your truck and driver is capable of, with plenty of support around you and under no pressure to prove anything.

Yes Joinerman that was I [emoji3] and the 80 went everywhere on the film and more with ease (of course!) and no bits fell off In fact I picked up a rock and did some ploughing with the tow bar.

The group has managed to secure some very good sites and have lots of people with good off road experience. I don't fancy the Pay n Play sort of sites. This is nice and controlled. This site has been closed to 4x4s for eight years and we were only allowed as a trial. Hopefully we will get access to more sites.

It's quite tricky to see on some parts of the film how much the site varies in height.

how did you boys get to play in what used to be called the VOLCANO!
it used to be a brilliant pay & play site!
who in Dudmans allowed access??

I have no idea who gave permission, but I do know it took a lot of negotiation by Sussex 4x4 Response group trustees and was allowed with some strict conditions. For example we were all escorted on and off the site and had to wear hi vis at all times. It's been closed as a Pay and Play site for a number of years. Part of the reason we were allowed I guess was due to the controlled training environment that Sussex 4x4 Response were providing for off road trained members only.
