Unfortunatley the time has come to sell my LHD 1982 BJ40 as I don’t have the time to finish it due to other commitments and projects. 
Most parts have been sourced from specter offroad and Toyota.
The bodywork is very solid and straight and the chassis has been shot blasted and treated. The body has been sprayed in a ral 2004 orange. The original roll bar has been removed and replaced with a full internal roll cage which supports the screen surround and creates the door shuts. There isn’t a hood included as I had planned to have one made to fit the cage once finished. A new front bumper was made and fitted with a tubular light surround. A tubular tire carrier which hinges down has also been made. The rear doors have been replaced with an aluminium tailgate which also doubles as a storage box.
The truck sits on brand new 37x12.5x15 maxxis creapy crawler tyres mounted on Toyota steel wheels with 30mm spacers. To get these on a specter offroad spring over axle kit was fitted. Once the spring over kit was fitted it was apparent that either prop angle or castor angle was to be compromised so the axle was professionally altered to put the castor back to stock and keep prop angles correct. While the axle was stripped hilux swivels were fitted along with new discs and new 4-pot calipers, also new bearings and hub seal kits were fitted. A steering dampener has been fitted.
New springs have been fitted along with new shackle pins and extended procomp shocks. The interior bodywork has also been painted orange ready to be carpeted. New cobra seats and sparco harnesses are fitted and are very comfy. The doors are still in primer as tube door were to be fitted but are straight and in very good condition. The windscreen surround needs to be finished but has had any bad patches replaced.
There are many new parts still in their boxes and bags. All seals for the doors, screen and vents are new. The front lights and spot lamps are all new and new original rear number plate lamps and holders are fitted. The door and bonnet hinges have been replaced with stainless steel ones with matching stainless bonnet catches. A new safari snorkel is also fitted. The badges on the front wings are new Toyota items and are still boxed and the rest of the badges are in good condition.
The truck runs and drives great and viewing is welcome in the evenings and at weekends.
