Brake failure on 2022 3 door land cruiser

After 6 months we had a break failure on our 3 door 2022 land cruiser, basically you would pump the brake pedal and nothing would happen, we could see the fluid in the reservoir drop and then the fluid return but it had air in it, a local garage put it on their ramp and saw no signs of leaking etc, but said it might be the master cylinder or the ABS pump that was at fault.

The vehicle has been back at the Toyota dealer now for 3 months due to a problem with the airbag, we have been assured the brake issue was fixed by bleeding them, but subsequently been told it was an issue with the ECU that has now been replaced, and there is also now an ABS warning light on. We dont have much faith in the issue being resolved, has anyone else seen similar issues and what has been the fault identified?

Initial problem sounds like the brakes werent bled properly.

Need to read the codes and see exactly why the ABS light is on.

I dont know about the 200, but on the 120 there is a procedure for bleeding the ABS unit

Thanks any idea why this would become an issue after a number of weeks of having the vehicle, the local garage could not find any signs of a leak

You may get a better response in the 150 Forum, your truck isn't a 200 series, for 2022 3-dr, I guess it's a 150 commercial?

Thanks will try, this is not a commercial version, it is shorter wheel base version of the 5 door we also have

I wonder what the condition of the brake fluid was?

Is it possible the brake fluid reservoir cap wasnt fitted (properly), thus allowing water to contaminate the brake fluid? Then when you brake, the contaminated fluid boils too early, which causes air bubbles etc

Dunno, just a thought - I can see that happening over a few weeks...
