Wow - talk about target fixation!! Pretty extreme stuff!

Cheers

A wing-over at that height carries risks you can see the chopper start sliding towards the ground while turning. Wrong speed means a big drop in height. I've been in choppers doing wing-overs and it is a buzz. You need to have turned further before descending than this guy was. However when i was in the army we had a new pilot attempt one at insufficient height and he speared into the ground. The transmission came through the roof and hit him in the back.

Even for a highly experienced and "gung- ho" pilot, he was well outside the envelope several times.. he had escaped once on the lap already!

At 4 min 49 sec, the camera pans right.
Then the next shot looks like the pilot, wiping his glasses?

Did he survive?

Amazing,
Well I guess the fact the 2 of them walked away must say some thing for the integrity of the cockpit.
It looks like they dropped a good 25 meters.
I thing that must have hurt on the restraint straps, a fair old bone jarring experience.
No fire also?
I guess a special fuel cell, with inert gas flooding?

Looks like he's one of them old 'Nam vets....whats the betting his nickname is '8-ball'?

Wonder if it affects his car insurance......any accidents in the last 5 years?
