I have once had the "Corwen carwash" ford, lapping the windscreen wipers.

I've been through this ford at Iver in Buckinghamshire with water lapping the wipers but this picture was taken in summer when it was a bit shallower;

To be honest, the water wasn't that deep, if you look at the rear wheel you can see it's lower, the bow wave makes it look deeper as it was pushing the water forward and creating a drop behind me, below is a video of the same ford but in a slightly different crossing place. The camera man nearly got his feet wet;
