Does anyone know how to access the mechanism behind the glass of the drivers door mirror? for some reason today it will not move in all directions....

You will probably find that the problem is a broken wire (or five) where the harness passes from the body through a rubber boot into the driver's door.

I had the same thing on my '95'. My mirror didn't work and I spent a lot of time removing it and testing it to find that all the functions worked in the mirror. There were a few broken wires in the door entry-point, fixing them cured the problem.

It means removing the door card and the kick panel in the driver's footwell.

I removed the complete harness from inside the door (it didn't take too long):

The broken wires were inside the boot.

I moved the 'boot' along and then spliced in some fresh wiring.

I then put it all back together and its been fine since .

I haven't done this on a '100' but I expect it will be similar.

Thank's Bob, I will give it a go this weekend....

Well checked all the wiring, everything OK there, I sprayed gallons of WD40 behind the actual mirror last night and today everything is working again....:icon-biggrin:
