I've made a nice drain tap for when I take the head off. It goes in the lower hose and enables you not to get covered in fluid and/or waste it. landcruiser tap (2).JPG

There is a drain cock in the side of the block already. Hard to find, but it's there.
 
Jon pointed out I have one on the bottom of the rad so I have 3 now. Only one is correctly designed so you can put a hose on and lead directly into a bucket. Very easy to get to as well.

It's a thick walled brass pipe so the tap is threaded, with a lock nut on the inside and the whole lot silver soldered with oxy. Belts braces and clips :icon-biggrin:
