Does anyone know if the exhaust section beneath the offside, driver’s door should have any kind of clamp or fixture ?

It started shuddering quite harshly - noticeable especially after switching off the engine.

There’s nothing holding it in position - it’s just resting on the rock slider frame with the rubber mount you see in the pic.

@Phil01

Did you resolve this ?

I have a similar issue.

I've 'bodged' with some rubber strip applied to the part where the pipe is knocking, but not terribly satisfactory as still knocking when switching off.

No I didn’t- and I can’t imagine this hasn’t cropped up before. I ll need to ask around at some exhaust fitting shops. I’ll let you know what I find

@Phil01

Does your Exhaust have any flex-pipe in it ?

Mine is a straight pipe fitted by previous owner.

I don’t think there is any flex in the system which might be why there is such a pronounced ‘kick’ when engine shuts off.

I think you may be right. mine is straight too without flex

Turns out that the flex pipe i had ( see pics) has seized and hardened and the only option other than its replacement is to put in a beefy rubber mount below the place where the exhaust knocks

Was also advised to put in a longer flex pipe and a 3mm thickness exhaust pipe next time around.

@Phil01 Interesting. Where did you get it looked at? Was it a typical 'fast-fit' outfit or a 4x4 specialist ?

Just a regular place. You could attach the mount yourself- it was only the removal of the old one that brought out the hammers
