Factory back order?

ordered some new belts from toyota yesterday fan and ac belts,had a call today to say they are back order!!!!!could be tomorrow,next week,month etc etc.
could get them elsewhere but will give em a week or so.
anybody had similar problems with relatively common parts???

Ya, I had to wait 3 seeks for a spindle bearing. Had to be sent from Japan, and could not be had from other suppliers. Think it was a Koyo - The Koyo main importer found it in the list, but found out it could be ordered by Mr T only. So - sh!t. Good I had an alternative.

Toyota get a lot of kit made in Thailand and I gather recent flooding has taken out a couple of their factories.

I think the delays with the belts is just the start of it, I suspect we may see some more shortages.

If you are desperate or need them just as spares, I ordered these as spares for our trip... ordered last Wednesday (your post reminded me ) and they have just arrived. They don't look bad quality either, and at £18 if they only do as a get me home I'm happy.
