Greetings, I have bought my first big landcrusier, a 1995 petrol auto 80 with low kms that needs some paint, a service and small chassis repair before the fun mods start. LOVED my 2 UK Colorado badged ( 95 Prados) 1997 diesel and 2001 petrol and my Aussie (120) 2004 petrol grande.
The 80 drives so smoothly its closer to my old Lexus LS430 than the Prados, its lovely.
My first question is where to go for a chassis repair in Victoria. Its not recorded and is result of a rear end collision , I already cropped out the rearmost crossmember and bought a replacement chassis section from a wreckers. the two side rails are a little bent at the ends.
Any guidance on approved methods, any steel insert sections for welding in replacement section etc very welcome. I look forward to getting it back on the road....... then straight off-road!
Also any experience of people using ex UK MOD (Army) Sankey or penman trailers with landcruisers for overlanding.
