Any ideas how to get the pipe out, its all free but for the life of me i cannot thread it out from under the vehicle

If its to be replaced cut it into sections, if not, undo some body bolts to give you extra clearance. It has been done without but not by me.

I put a piece of wooden planking under the floor and carefully jacked it up to give some clearance between it and the cross-member.

Go carefully, it worked for me.

Yes, about 1/2" more clearance between body and crossmember is what you need. When I put the new one in, I tried different ways, angles and approaches for half an hour, until, suddenly, wow, this way it goes in very easily. Can't remember now which way it was, but -- Eureka!

As Bob says, jacking the body up a touch will give you a bit more clearance, I did mine that way a few years ago, it still takes some juggling but it does come out.
