Hi, I've just recently bought a Landcruiser prado 3l diesel, auto. Japanese import 70 series KZTE engine.

I've got my hands on a second hand tank (photo 1) to replace the very rusty one she currently has (photo 2). The replacement tanks doesn't have the two vertically alligned pipes that the original one has. Also got a replacement filler neck (photo 3). Question I'm stuck on is can we remove the chamber on the neck(photo 4) /have it completely remove it from the system? Or do we need to get the vertical pipes added into the new tank?

I have done that with no problems. I also blanked off the lower pipe that are not on your new tank. I joined the top two together and pipe them up high. I am sure they are not even required and I could of blanked them as well. Also all fitting are soft soldered not brazed, so you can use plumbing solder and standard blow torch. I had a good tank but rottenfiller, so I cut the filler short and bought a flexible filler to connect to the tank.

Hi Graeme. Many thanks for very useful reply. So we will reconnect chassis vent pipe to one of the tank pipes which originally connected to chamber thing on filler neck, and blank off the second pipe. This means the chamber will be totally removed from the system. Will let you know how we get on.

Hi @Ellie94 any tips for putting the tank straps back on? I've just taken mine off and can foresee having some issues. How did you find it?
