Handy Shovel Mounting Bracket

Guys
Ideal bracket for mounting a shovel to rear wheel carrier or tubular
framed bull bar or side steps:
You know those temporary fences you see on building sites etc.
The Steel couplers that join the sections together - zinc coated - can
be bolted tightly in place. A small thin piece of rubber is a good idea
on contact surfaces.
Can be secured further by drilling a small hole and padlocking.
You can get them from any hardware store.

Not pretty but would do the job.

Hi Niall,
Yes very solid, but I bet that when you get to a muddy area where you
will be using the shovel a lot, it will live in the passengers footwell!!
Having to bolt/unbolt it every time you want it will be a pain in the
neck.
Some of the off the shelf options are expensive ?25+, but I'm sure if you
hunt around you might be able to find a cheaper equivalent that lets you
just unclip the spade when required.

Hello,
For most purposes a bungee cord works just as well. The trick is not
to let the locals walk away with it and still be able to quickly use
it when needed.
What I did was drilling a hole in the spade to attach it with a
padlocked thumb screw at one end and a rubber draw catch at the other
end.
