Hello all, My name is Ken and im in the Nebraska. I recently imported a JDM '95 Land Cruiser 78 Prado with the 1KZ-TE.
Right now it has no mods other than a set of 32 x 11.5 r15 BFG km2's that came with it. T

he previous owner had installed a goofy body kit that covered the front and rear bumpers....that lasted 3 days before these terrible roads out here did half of the removal for me.
Its got 150,000 km on the clock and will probably be driven 125 miles a day 6 days a week for the rest of its life!
Im planning on installing a decent deer smasher on the front and most likely a set of skinny 16's other than that, the plan is to keep it pretty much stock and go for maximum longevity.

Nice one ‘Postie‘ Welcome to the forum... and what a great job driving a Land Cruiser all day and every day, your face must ache wearing a Cruiser grin all the time
These trucks don’t fear hi mileage And it looks like a hood one, enjoy:thumbup:

That looks great.

I guess the one job where you need to sit on the wrong side of the car

A great choice Ken , the 78 is my favourite landcruiser. What spec is it ? auto ? heated seats ?

Welcome, Ken.
Great car. I love to see a Cruiser that clearly works for its living, and you have a really tough truck there that should serve you well. I don't trust shiny clean cars, yours looks like an honest friend. Just love those old 70s.

It was really shiny when I got it, but it gets a bath once a week whether it needs it or not

And its even nicer when its clean. There are a few 78s here in the UK, usually in two-tone colour schemes. That all black style yours has looks particularly good. But what's with the snow plough thingy at the front? Most people try to gain a bit of clearance there to avoid any damage in the rough. From what you said its on the way to removing itself anyway. Just as well! Good luck with the car, it should manage the 3000 miles a month you have lined up for it year after year with no problems. Just keep on top of the servicing.

Whoever owned it Japan put on the fiberglass body kit. I don't get it either but it's gone now, waiting for the factory bumper ends to get here from megazip so it can look right. It's got the Jeep tiny bumper look and I don't like it. On the servicing side, it will be on a maximum maintenance plan, since I am using my personal vehicle to deliver mail the postal service pays a fairly generous amount for mileage. I do have a small problem, all the documentation is in Japanese, still looking for maintenance schedule in English

From the Kzj 1Kz- te 90 series manual , basically the same truck.
