Hello all

My '98 100 headlight relay began clicking the other night and by morning the battery was dead. Recharged it and it started fine but did it again the next day. Took the headlight relay out and recharged it again and it is fine but now of course I have no headlights. High beams work, running lights work. Any suggestions?

thanks!

I would replace it as its 16 years old (unless its been replaced before).

however it would be as well to check it out with a 12 volt battery while its in your hand and well away from any gremlins in ECUs and the like.

The pins should be numbered and it should be possible to rig up a headlight bulb on the output side and then see if it will trigger correctly.

If it starts clicking then bin it.

If it works normally I'd suggest putting a larger output load on it. If it still works then there is a problem elsewhere.

It sounds like burnt contacts on the output side that are not freeing-off properly to me.

Bob.
