Got a whining noise and a slight vibration through driver footwell floor. The whine goes off when I let off the accelerator, also slight clonking when in drive pulling away or when in reverse? Any ideas where to start ?
Thanks in advance peeps

I would always check driveline.
UJs can make all sorts of noises when drying up. They can also cause the clonk with a bit of slack. They're the cheapest fix so worth starting with them

How would I know if they are knackered or not? Roughtrax only list 1 ?
Thanks

Have a look in underneath, rotate the driveshafts by hand, look for play, lack of grease.. or safest bet.. change them anyway. There are 3 to change, all of which are identical, hence only one part number listed. 2 in the front driveshaft and one at the diff end of the rear shaft. The joint at the gearbox end of the rear shaft is a double joint, and not easily serviceable, but also doesn't seem to wear like the others.

Grease the spline shafts and see if the clonk goes. Then grease all the joints when you're under it

Greased up all the uj’s and the shaft , it’s seemed to of helped the clonk , but the vibration and the howls continue!!!
Could this be a front diff issue?

Whine can probably only be the diffs or the wheel bearings. Have you access to drive it on a lift and get someone under it to listen?

Any idea on price for getting the front diff refurbished/ renewed bearings etc ?
Struggling to find out much at all .

It cost me £650 to have the rear diff rebuilt inc parts. This was for bearings, oil seal and crush washer. The CW&P were perfect and it has lost that " electric motor" whine it had.
I removed it myself and took it to the garage, had it done and collected.
I guess it would be similar in the same circumstances, double if they do the whole job.
