How to change your timing belt

VIDEO OF TIMING BELT REPLACEMENT

I have just seen this video showing the timing belt replacements on a TOYOTA HILUX Mk6 3.0L D4D

This is the same as on a 2004 Land Cruiser KDJ120.

I have just ordered a kit containing the timing belt - tensioner - and Idler pulley from Milners for £54.00

Toyota want £330 and more if I want a new tensioner of Idler pulley - which I recommend you do at the same time.

The video shows this can be dome by a novice (me) in 45 minutes. It really is a simple job.

The torque settings are Tensioner bolts 13Nm or 10ft/Lb and the Idler wheel bolt 35Nm.

Saw that vid before alright. It's the exact same on all KD engines. And it is a very straight forward job. 40 minutes if you've never done it before. Reckon I'd make 25 min next time
