Just like the title says, looking through the EPC data for the different variations of 80 series TD there seem to be differing part numbers for the diesel injector pump.

Now I know there will be differences between 12v and 24v, and manual and auto due to fittings. But what other differences are there.

My reason for asking being that I would ideally like to pull my pump and get it reconditioned as preventative maintainance, but it would be nice to buy a second pump and get it rebuilt instead, thus having a spare on the shelf as parts get harder to find over the years.

22100-17280 is the part number for mine 12v manual 02/1991, JDM model.

22100-17540 is the part number for a 1992 12v manual, 08/1992 european rhd (UK) spec

Basically there seem to be several different variations.

Has anybody any knowledge about this, and about interchangability if there is any??

Well, is the lack of answers just not knowing, or am I asking a stupid question??

I guess nobody knows the exact answer. My guess would be that if you got a pump off a 12valve car then it could be tuned to the specifications of YOUR part number. A specialist diesel reconditioning shop would have the knowledge and parts to achieve this. They are Bosh VE series pumps. A website which I now cannot find gave the Bosh and Toyota part numbers for all the 80 series Landcruisers and were helpful when I telephoned with a query. I would think a reputable shop with some old fossil running it would know the answer.

R V S in Swindon would help you, very friendly & helpful, can't lay my hands on their number at the mo but a quick google should tell you.

Thanks guys, I suppose a session on the phone is in order so!

Actual specialists like that are virtually impossible to locate here in Ireland, so I may find someone in the UK.

I'm actually after ordering new injector tips, and there is a local crowd here I would trust to do that, but I am wary of letting them loose on a pump they have never seen before.

Yogi. Every 12 v pump that I have swapped I have NEVER checked a part number.

Im no expert but I think the different part number are for the manual pump and auto pump.Imports are different, then the cold start set up etc etc etc.
They are all a bog standard pump with different bits added .maybe internals slightly different as well. All the same thing that do the same job.

Mines a bit of a rare beast though Karl, a manual import from 1991, the EPC shows only my model with that particular one.

Seeing as how I have the bits here to remove that ACSD thing, that doesn't worry me. (OR I assume I do because they seem to be generic to all Bosch pumps on VW's from that era. I only read up a bit on it, its low down on my list of priorities at the moment.)

How much should I expect to give for one that is in decent working order and (hopefully) hasn't been running biodiesel for years?? Roughly??

PM me if you don't want to give away 'trade secrets'!!
