After an off road 3 day trip Coast 2 Coast in Yorkshire and a more recent off road day across Salisbury Plain I started thinking about a decent navigation system. I subscribe to the OS Mapping and purchased a Garmin GLO 2 to pair with my iPad Air.
Then I thought how can I hold the iPad when I drive?
After ferreting about in the shed I found a metal frame for a cabinet I got sent as a replacement:



It then turned into this:

RAM Mounts were brilliant. I called them and the talked me through what I needed. I ordered about 11 am yesterday and the mount was delivered today.
Chuffed to bits. A solid mounting system at a reasonable price.

Wow this was my one of the oldest doubts. Can we use I pad as nav. I have a spare one, kid broke it’s screen n got a new one for her. If I can replace its screen I ll use it.

Great. You must remember though, if it’s just WiFi and not cellular, ie no SIM card, you have to download the map of the area you’ll be travelling on. Google maps an OS maps allow you to do that. Also if you buy a “real” paper OS map you now get a free download code. It’s brilliant. Plenty of YouTube videos out there about it.
