ITX computers (was Front Diff breather and Milner offroad)

I wonder if rather than a complicated multi output setup you wouldn't be
better off with a cheap separate DVD system in the back, I've seen some
cheap dual screen ones in Halfrauds, and keep the ITX for sat nav and
your needs up front. Imagine the chaos in the back if Media Player were
to crash part way through a film, it's a computer after all so you know
it's going to happen!
Best Regards,
Jon.

Thanks Jon
SST??
Where did you get the FSM Jon? Main Dealer?
Any news on the ITX - my need is now a bit more urgent.
Thanks Jon

Their part no 000198K is =A326.00. Put this kit on the 94 about 20k miles
ago no probs so far, and on the 93 on Saturday so early days.
A couple of times I've heard mention of the Milner inner axle oil seals
being no good but I have to say they've been fine for me on the 94 after
all those miles and they're a good fit on the axle...
If anyone thinking of doing this has looked at the FSM don't worry about
the bit with an SST to get the knuckle off its bearings, it just lifts
off. Nearest you get to needing an SST is finding a 54mm socket!

Jon.

Front Axle rebuild new seals and repack birs n bearings

I did both sides of our 93 on Saturday, it's not too bad if you take
your time and have a LOT of paper towels to hand to wipe all the grease
up with. The service kits that Milner sell (labeled as 'both sides') are
good value, they include all the gaskets and the inner axle oil seal as
well as the more obvious swivel seals.

Should look at main bearings as the car is quite old now

I was reluctant to interfere with my big ends on the basis that if they
were ok then having took them apart to make sure I'd increased the
chances of something going wrong! I have used the Difflock oil analysis
service instead to check up on them, much less invasive.
Best regards,
Jon.

Hi Julian
So I need a Front Axle rebuild! Great what next....?
This is the list so far:
Front Axle rebuild new seals and repack birs n bearings
New Starter
New Exhaust
Rust spots (not too serious yet) all over the underneath of car so
really
need to do something about it before next winter.
Aerial not going up and down like it should (local kids think its funny
to
bend them over if left up)
Should look at main bearings as the car is quite old now
New Shocks and springs as she really is getting floppy in her old age
Radiator fixed but on the cheap so this will go wrong again
Time for a full service and a new timing belt
Etc
Regards
Simon Hughes
