You can only reassure yourself that they are OK if the flap valve is free
and depresses with a tap of the finger. As for extending them, I used 6mm
GoodYear fuel pipe and took them both up beside the windscreen washer
reservoir and in front of the bulkhead. Each terminated by a cheapo push-in
disposable fuel filter. No junctions and no extra plumbing into the air
filter. Remember that I regularly make 2 fords twice a week in sunny Bosnia
- they work !
Starter pics. If I remember, there are some pictures of my 12V contacts on
my yahoo site which I have given you before. These are just of the contacts
but they are the bit that gives trouble. I also have some pics of the brush
assembly too, but have not uploaded them to the site. If necessary I can
re-send them next time I am on a landline where I don't have to pay the
phone bill ! (Currently on a slow old cellphone from the boat you see).
