Keys in ignition chime/ding

Anyone know of a way to stop the chime when you open the drivers door with the keys in the ignition? I'm also wondering if there is a way to stop the easy entry steering from going up and down. Can I set It where I want it and pull a fuse?

On my 2013 Hilux I stopped the chime when leaving keys in ignition and opening. The door. It was by disconnecting a wire connected to key barrel.
try Googling it, might be same on 100 series

I’d like to do the same on my 78. I did this on my FJ, it was as simple as pulling a connector apart behind the lower dash trim Once I figured out which connector.

TechStream is the answer.
And maybe even the "key in ign. beep" has a switch in there as well - can't remember.

I can't remember what chimed in the mrs truck but its chimes no more since i found the mini speaker and cut a wire .

AndyCook you're a star..

Unplugged this small white plug from the bottom of the ignition barrel and no more annoying chime. Lights on chime still works and best of all the "easy entry" steering up and down is also disabled but you can still adjust it with the joystick on the side of the column. Win win win I'll update if I find any down sides but so far so good.

About the steering wheel going up and down. It will stop by it self in some time. Many have this problem in our club in Norway. Mine stopped working at all and that before it had run 124.000 miles

Disconnecting the chime has eliminated the easy entry system so the steering wheel can still be moved with the joystick when needed. Although the gear on my forward/back motor has already worn out..
