Landcriser100 Series Subtank problem

I own a diesel Landcruiser 100 series with a 1HZ 4.2 Litre engine my subtank does not feed fuel into even when I press the subtank button the gauge shows that the tank is empty even when there is fuel in tank. What is and where is the problem?

wiring obviously, possibly a fuse gone?

I have the same problem with my OZ spec 100. On selecting "sub tank" I hear something going off underneath, ie a solenoid type noise but it doesn't change over. I will be interested to see where this goes as it could well help me.
