LJ70 Land Cruiser 1988 Build

Great read this thread ... well done on the build ..looks a great truck

As there is nowhere to hide anything in the back of the LJ70 from prying eyes I have decided to tint the back windows to try and provided a bit of extra security, also looks good

Hi Red, no used a local specialist, have tried before and it didn't look great, so got it done right this time :)

looks really good Simon.

if you wanted the tinting done for security, wouldnt it have been better having a darker tint, as you can quite clearly see straight through the rear windows in the pics above? :?

Thanks Ben, I picked the 2nd darkest out of 8 shades, tried the darkest but couldn't see through the back windows through the mirror!

fair enough. it defiantly looks better with the tints.

Hey Si, I spied your truck up at WCO on Tuesday awaiting the Vee-Eight...

Fella, I congratulate you on the work you've done to date - your truck is looking mighty clean. Wicked little cruiser dude

Paul reckoned a couple of weeks til the conversion is done - he's had problems getting a plate to match the gearbox up by all accounts... Bet you can't wait!!!

Va bene

Thanks Gav! It's been hard work but a lot of fun doing it :)

Was going to call tomorrow for an update, I know they are fitting it in around other jobs as I wasn't in a rush, but looking forward to the drive home when I pick it up.

Still got the door cars to do to finish the inside, but should look like new after that.

Tick tock, tick tock... :p

Just being naughty Si... Any news to report?

Yes the engine is in :) a few problems connecting to the manual box but nearly there. Fabricating a new sump so that it fits into a fairly tight space, other than that.......

Hi Simon,

Really like what you are doing with your LJ70. I saw one just like it recently at West Coast 4x4 having a 4 Litre Lexus engine put it........ is that yours??
