Anyone got any advice on 35's All I can seem to find in the UK is the Fedima Sirocco's and the price hike between say 31's and 35 is astronomical.

I wouldn't mind a decent set of used ones if anyone has got any going for decent money.

Marix say they will be doing their simex copy (lion) in a 35 but it is still in testing in Germany (they only want £420 for a set of 4) and say they will be ready in may but I was hoping for something before Lincomb.

Any ideas would be helpful guys.

Only that you have to be careful about what people say are 35's. Not many are. Coopers and BFG are usually what they say they are. I think Gav had some nice Pro Comps in 35. The SST comes in a true 35 as well I think. The Silverstones are not 35.

Pretty big to be cramming into those arches. Look pretty awesome though. I remember what KZJ95's truck looked like when he did is. Gotta figure in the diff ratios there though. It's a big change from std.

Close Shayne. 34 1/2

Not 35's I know, but not a bad price considering that they're north of £800 new now!!!

255/85/16 BFG KM2s x 4 for £449 used and two are 50% worn, but still not a bad price and open to offers.

Thanks Steven but now I have seen her with 35's on that is what I want. There may be a chance of me turning up at Lincomb with some 37 to try out, just depends on weather I can scrounge up a trailer for the weekend.

They would be perfect Shayne but look a little "too" worn for my liking. Thanks though mate.

Just looking at your profile pic i really do wonder how you will fit more rubber into the arch , i'm thinking to fit 37's without losing your flex your gonna need 2" wheel spacers and cut out arches . It would look the dogs bollox if you did it though , weld up the arches so they water tight then put bushwacker flares over them to hide the mess .

37!!!! Are you sure? That's what I am running on the 80. Seriously I don't think you'll be able to go around corners. You can pop down and try one on if you like.

I know it a long shot Chris but the 35's i tried on the last month seemed to fit really easily, they were 12.50's and on -32mm off set. I have a friend close by that used to have 37's on his Patrol (well 36.5) but he did a conversion to Portal Axles last year and is now running 42's so he has offered me the 37's for £400 (6 tyres 5 rims) and has said that I can borrow them for a while to test them out. I figured Lincomb would be as good a place as any with all those great minds gathered together poking and measuring.

TBH I don't really think that 37's will be feesable but it sure would be nice to see a 90 with some on even if it is just to see what has to be done. I really don't want to look at a re gear and without I think the only place I would be able to use it would be on P&P sites (which I have no interest in) It's more that if I can get them there It would be interesting to see what everyone thought would be needed.

Awesome. Not doubting, but were the 35's REALLY 35's?

What are the 37's? More importantly what are his 42's?

Still concerned about the diffs though, deep mud and that torquey 3.0l engine. Snap, bang, clunk - know what I mean. Would look totally awesome though.

the 35's were michelin xzl 9.00x16 and measure in at 35". IIRC the 37's are one of the many simex copies. and I will find out what the 42's are.

I have a feeling you are right about the diffs on the 37 but from what I have read elsewhere people run 35 without issue. I have just secured a deal on another truck as a DD (not telling at the moment as there are still a few bit to sort out and don't want to jinx it) so the shortie being off the road after a break may soon be less of a problem. (can any hear the sound of an SAS). would rather not if I can get away with it though

OK so I have been looking around and there seems to be quite a sizable premium for 35" tyres. The differance between 33 and 35 fedima's is the best part of £90 as far as I can find and I just can not justify paying that sort of money for just an extra inch, especially when my 31(ish) GG AT2's have taken me everywhere I have needed to take them in the past (Except wet grass). So I think its gonna be 33's for me but now comes the next question. Which ones.

I like the look of the BFG's but as I am planning on running 2 sets would it be worth running a more extreme MT.

As for a more extreme MT the obvious choice is a Simex knock off. And everyone in my local group rates Fedima's

So that should be that sorted then eh?

But what do you reckon the these, They are new so I doubt anyone will have any experience of them but there was a bit of a review of the in this months TOR. which went along these lines.

Fedima is best know in the UK for the Sirocco, a hardcore remould whose Simex-inspired pattern and generously over-sized diameter have won it a devoted following in the challenge scene. But Tyres Direct has also just taken on a stock of the Portuguese company's VJ910 - a top-cap remould blending enormous shoulders and a staggering 23mm of tread depth.

This is currently stocked only a 33x2.50R15, but Tyres Direct says that subject to casing availability, 35 and 37 inch sizes can be supplied to special order. Intriguingly, Fedima has indicated that it would also be willing to produce tyres to order with difference treads too; the enhanced mud terrain style seen here looks as if it should be aggressive enough for must off-road purposes, but the opportunity to mix a larger size with a choice of the company's more exotic teads can hardly help but get your imagination going.

This level of specialism comes at a price, however. Tyres Direct quotes £149 per tyre for its current stock of 33x12.50R15's

And now as I am half way through typing this section out I realise that it is all pointless.

Currently VJ90 is only available in a 15" rim size, So It looks like it going to have to be the Scirocco's then.

Shame really as with a massive 24mm tread depth a set of the VJ90's would have been lovely I think.

i do feel sorry for our front diff should this go ahead, I would keep my eye out for a spare as I am sure you wont be long before you need one

if its going to be a play toy why not think about getting some 80 series axles dropped under it

He told me similar about the testing at the Donnington indoor 4x4 show saying they should be ready early May, although he did say they were just healthy 285/75/16 that come close to 34"

Before I bought the Fedimas (which come in at 36.75 and are heavy!) I did come close to some Hankook RT03 from Camskill (sorry cant link you to them, not enough posts).
