Looks like a nice 1996 "P" reg 80 4.5 VX Auto....

Hmmmmmmmm Brian.

I have had a few imports with lockers from factory but never had or ever seen one with the rear seats. Obviously the sliding windows come due to the seats.

Learn something new everyday.

Agh but i haven't got the rear seats, they may have been there some time in its life as there's evidence by a couple of carpet patches over the anchor points.

You have thrown me even more then now.

My guess is someone has put the sliding windows in then.

I'm with Karl on the rear seat thing there are no seat/seatbelt mountings on the bodyshells. I've seen early 80 imports with lockers but never a 24V import with them. . Just as a point of interest Joinerman what tint are your windows as all the imports I've seen have had the "smoke" tint and the UK spec are a blue/green colour?

Andy

Also if the owner of the truck for sale thinks a diesel version in the same condition would be £15K he is a little misguided.

Andy

No tint on mine Andy, there was when i got it but i nearly killed a cyclist one night as i pulled out of an angled junction & i was sort of looking left behind the passenger seat through the rear door glass & couldn't see him, tints were off next day.

No tint!! well like Karl says you learn something new every day.

Thanks for that.

Andy

I wonder how much shill-bidding goes on, on ebay?

Not suggesting this is the case here, but his vehicles do get an inordinate number of bids per vehicle.

Rather uusual as its not vehice speific either.

Perhaps he just a great ebay seller:whistle:

He got back to me, its a UK car, difflocks all work, and rack is included.

Karl - might be my end, but I cant see any sign of a mention of difflocks.

I can see it going for nearer £7k, its almost £5k now.

Pete

As Karl said, in his "Summary of of Car Condition" (after all the photos) item "12) Diff-Locks Working as per Julian Voeckler".

:shifty:

Thats really odd, Ive looked at this ad a few times, and until just now there was nothing below the last picture, just the end of the ad. ! Internet silliness I guess.

On the plus, now I have Julians full bank details, name and address I can obtain several payday loans, have them paid into a 3rd party account and then disappear, leaving him to pick up the pieces. Bit naughty publishing them like that.

Nice truck, though.

Big booboo like you said, a bit naughty, This guy should be informed of his misdemeanor.

Andy

Over 8k surely not

Clean truck but I can't believe it getting to that.

Rigged bidding, it must be.

Gra.

£8450, strong money for a petrol. Perhaps he could of got near the £15K that was mentioned, if there was a diesel under the bonnet?

Encouraging sign of improvement in the market for good quality 80's?

Apparently (and perhaps not surprisingly) this hasn't sold and is still available - it maybe re-listed on eBay.

Might be an opportunity for an interested forum member to get in with a sensible offer?

With consumption at about 13mpg, its def in need of an lpg system.

With an equivalent nearer to 20mpg it would be a more attractive proposition.

If Karls figure of £5k is about right, with another £2.5k for lpg, could you get an equivalent condition diesel for £7.5k?

Its a shame if the seller is being messed about, Ebay is a 'mare for it.

Pete

Something is always worth what someone's going to pay. Hard to put prices on these things. I have one coming firsale that I expect around 3k for.

You might find a decent/good condition 24v diesel for £7.5k but to get one that has had all the work done that this one has, I'm sure you'd have to pay quite a bit more. Having said that, even though running a LPG/petrol LC is usually cheaper than the diesel equivalent, the diesels will always be inherently more valuable due to the nature of the beast.
