That looks like fun

I'd been told it was in a bad way but it doesn't look much different to when I last drove it going the other way with Gary and Ray

the rockstep and the bit just below it, are washed-out a reasonable amount compared to a year or so ago, as i watched a you-tube video (dated 2009 or 2010) of some defenders driving it, and there was hardly any rock step at all then.

Looks a great lane   ... pity it's all the way up there ... and we're all the way down here

did you see many others on the lane

only saw the trail biker, we started the lane about 4.00pm, but there were some fresh-ish tracks = mud tyres in some spots

here is a vid posted on you-tube - july 2010

in the section from 1min to 2min, you can see the trail is much less washed out, at the weekend there was a plastic drainage pipe exposed on the bend - no sign of it on this vid
and the rock step was nothing

then same section videod this year in April

Andy

I love the alloys on your truck . Amazing what can be done with a near standard 90. Very nice......

"Amazing what can be done with a near standard 90"

i thought it was moderately modifed rather than near standard! :(

pics never do these things justice. Looks like you enjoyed it

yep - i loved it and ready to do more.
its taken me until recently to get the vehicle prepared enough for me to feel ready to tackle rocky trails.

hope to do some lanes in Weardale, Strata Florida, and possible western peaks in a couple weeks time
then its Pyrenees

wonder if sliders are needed in Pyrenees? only got 21.5mpg out of my trip last weekend, but was loaded and going at 75mph at times on the M6... and bike on roof, anchor, waffles

whens the next club meet in lakes!!

That is a challenging looking lane, the start looks a bit Lake District but that step looks a bit tricky.

I might have to make the effort to get down to Wales, thanks for sharing the pics Andy.
